Welcome to Twistin' Gals Mecates!
We are a mother and daughter team of Mecate makers that twist traditional Mecates using our grandmother's traditions from horse mane hair only, sometimes other textures if special ordered. All our ropes are made without a core in the center.
Below are a few samples of our designs, and there are many more. We make mecates for tie ropes (lead ropes, get down lines), snaffle bits, two- reins, and bosals/hackamores. We make several sizes 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4". We are open to making special requests as well.
